Start with what you already know
Your manufacturing approach depends on the product you want, how much differentiation you need, and the specifications you already have. The terminology varies across the industry, so discuss responsibilities rather than relying on OEM or ODM labels alone.
Private label: begin with an available foundation
Private label generally uses an existing formulation with a brand-specific presentation. Confirm that a suitable formula is actually available for your target market. Ask about permitted changes, packaging, minimum quantities, formula ownership, and supply terms. Do not assume every base formula can be customized.
Custom formulation: define the development work
A custom project begins with a brief rather than a ready-to-produce specification. Ingredients, dosage, sensory targets, stability requirements, and cost goals affect development. Agree sample rounds, evaluation criteria, fees, and rights to the resulting formulation.
Existing formula: assess the production fit
If you own a formula, the next step is a manufacturing review. Raw-material specifications, process needs, testing requirements, and packaging must be established. Protect confidential information through an appropriate agreement before sharing detailed technical files.
Make the decision concrete
Prepare your target market, format, initial finished-unit quantity, and packaging expectations. Compare the scope of work and deliverables—not just a headline price. Our minimum starts at 100 finished sales units; the applicable project conditions are confirmed in the quote.
General procurement guidance. Project specifications and applicable requirements must be confirmed separately.
